While veterinary care, a lot of love and a healthy lifestyle is the absolute best way to keep your pet feeling good, all dogs will experience at least some form of injury or illness in their life. Benadryl, or another brand name antihistamine, can be incredibly useful for treating allergies, insect bites or other causes of itchy skin. Buffered Aspirin is an excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic. Even Dramamine can be used for dogs with dizziness, and Immodium can treat diarrhea. However, the dosages for dogs are very different than for humans.
